Course Description:
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Late F.I. Language Arts
110 This course follows the same general pattern as the grade 11
course and continues to emphasize vocabulary and
oral expression, literature, grammar, written expression and
composition, and culture.
Texts: En direct 3, Le petit prince, Les filles de Caleb, L'
étranger and various
readings
Assessment Methods:
1. Participation 10% (oral communication & expression)
Students will be expected to participate verbally in class
discussions in French at all times.
2. Tests 30% (tests & presentations)
Major projects & tests will be announced well in advance.
3. Classwork 30% (assignments, quizzes, homework checks)
Shorter assignments & quizzes will require less notice.
Homework checks will be done on a random basis.
4. Final Project 10% (oral expression - last week of classes)
5. Final Exam 20% (oral comprehension, written comprehension &
written expression - see exam schedule)

2. Oral presentations including public speaking (art oratoire)
